In a land fond of hot baths, it is no wonder that even their animals, like the monkeys, have also acquired the practice.

During winter in Japan, particularly in Nagano Prefecture, visitors have a chance to see wild monkeys enjoying the hot springs. Guests are also allowed to observe and interact with the monkeys, but touching them is prohibited.

To get to the area, ride a bus to Kanbayashi Onsen from Yudanaka Station, Shibu Onsen or Nagano Station. Buses along the Yudanaka-Kanbayashi Line stop at "Kanbayashi Onsen" bus stop, while other buses stop at the "Snow Monkey Park" bus stop. From Kanbayashi Onsen, it is a 30-40 minute walk to the monkey park. 

Admission is 500 yen to 800 yen.
