Who would've thought that a lot of beautiful parks are situated within the bustling streets of Tokyo? This beautiful wisteria pathway can be found inside the almost 42-hectare Jindai Botanical Garden. Located along the edge of the Musashino plateau, the garden beautifies this area near the Jindaiji Temple in Chofu City. With its approximately 4,500 varieties of flowers, the place sure sends a spray of fresh scent in Western Tokyo, not only during spring but year round.
The garden is not only a place of aesthetics. The place is also a nursery which implements plant protection programs and activities to preserve Japan's endangered species of flora.
To get to the place, from the Keio Line Chofu Station Bus Stop 14, take the Odakyuu Bus Number 14, going to Mitaka or Kichijoji. Alight at the Jindaiji Shokubutsu Kouen and the temple is there present on your left.
The garden is open from 09:30 to 17:00, except on Mondays. Admission is 500 yen for adults, 200 yen for children and 250 yen for seniors.
