Sakurai Sho of the idol male group, Arashi, has been hailed as Johnny’s Face of the Year 2017, based on a survey conducted by Modelpress, an entertainment media outfit catered for women.

The Johnny’s type has always been bishounens (in English, beautiful youth). However, the criteria of Modelpress for Johnny’s Face of the Year 2017 are well-thought of to find celebrities who’s not only active in group entertainment activities, but also on individual works such as dramas, movies, theater acts, variety shows and others. Because of this, here is the survey question asked by Modelpress, “Which Johnny’s talent is the most active in 2017?”

Due to the good number of his individual participation on television, radio and other media, Sakurai Sho has been classified as number 1, with a total number of 903 votes from the female readers. Aside from moderating and newscasting, he also served as the host of The Music Day and the Best Artist 2017, as well as 24HR TV. He also became a special anchor for NNN House of Representatives Special Program ZERO × Election 2017.

Other idols and big personalities also made it to the top 10. Kamenashi Kazuya of the idol group KAT-TUN ranked as second with a total of 785 votes. Yamashita Tomohisa got 751 votes and placed third. Tamamori Yuta of Kis-My-Ft2 got 386 votes on fourth place. Fifth was Yamada Ryosuke of Hey! Say! JUMP, with 381 votes. Another member of Arashi, Matsumoto Jun was ranked the sixth, with 377 votes. Hirano Sho of Mr.KING / Johnny’s Jr. got 360 votes at seventh place. Arashi also got the eighth place with Aiba Masaki and his 351 votes. Another from Hey! Say! JUMP, Arioka Daiki was on the ninth place with 244 votes. The last but not the least was Nakajima Kento of Sexy Zone, who got 207 votes.
