Fans in the Nintendo World store in New York City were bombarded with announcements of new games in the March 2018. Just when Nintendo said the show was over, they sneaked in a massive treat for the fans-- the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch!
In this video, fans can be heard cheering and getting totally excited over the announcement. A man even appeared to faint after the news was out.
The creator of the Super Smash Bros. series, Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed his participation in the project. Sakurai has worked in all of the other games in the series.
Super Smash Bros. joins eleven other games to be released this year. The other releases include Mario Tennis Aces, Dark Souls: Remastered, and Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy.
The exact release date of Super Smash Bros. Switch is yet to be announced, but the game will surely be out towards the end of the year. After the Switch release, fans can also expect the game’s release on the 3DS, in Super Smash Bros 4 fashion.
The previous game in the series has 54 characters, and fans are expecting a bigger roster in 2018. But surely, staples like Mario, Kirby, Sonic and Ryu will still be playable. With Skyrim’s arrival on the Nintendo Switch, fans are also guessing that the classic look of Dovahkiin will also be available.
The Super Smash Bros. franchise is now on its 5th installment, following the release of Super Smash Bros. 4 in 2014 for the Wii U and the 3DS. The first game was released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64. Over the years, gamers have enjoyed this fighting game series because of its lovable characters and fun gameplay.
