Coming this January 12 to 21 is the Furusato Matsuri Tokyo 2018, which promises to bring all the unique entertainment, best local delicacies, and finest beverages to the soon-to-be guests at the Tokyo Dome City.
Held annually since 2009, the Furusato Matsuri Tokyo 2018 is the largest collective festival in Japan with about 400, 000 attendees across Japan. They come together to witness the best foods, best goods and best performances. This event introduces more than 20 groups of local festivals including the “Aomori Nebuta Festival” and the “Akita Kanto Festival.” They also feature local delicacies from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
This year, in celebration of its 10th anniversary, the organizers set up the “Furusato Juujuu Sub Fair.” New products will be presented by popular bakeries, including original sandwiches with local side dishes. Some of the sandwiches featured in this event can only be tasted here.
The popular program, “Japan Local Donburi Championship” will also be held again. This year’s 11 qualifiers and the last year’s top 3 donburis will compete for the grand prize.
It is best to go on weekdays if you want to save on the entrance fees, which only cost 1,200 Yen, unlike the 1,500 Yen ticket price on weekends.
The festival starts from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and closes at 6:00 PM on the last day, January 21.
