Yukimaru was a pet of Prince Shōtoku, who was once a regent and politician of the Asuka period. The prince is related to the temple of Daruma-dera in Ōji, Nara. It is also said that Yukimaru's grave is located in Ōji.

Now, to boost the town's tourism, Yukimaru was brought to life as a mascot drone. The mascot strolls around Ōji and was shot without the use of computer graphics.
