What are Yudanaka Snow Monkeys? They are snow monkeys living in the town of Yudanaka as well in Shibu Town. The monkeys are macaques that are akin to monkeys found in tropical countries. These monkeys are used to the cold and are often found frolicking or bathing in and around water. For access, in the area, you'll need to take a bus from the Yudanaka Station to Kanbayashi Onsen. From Kanbayashi Onsen, walk in a trail for 30 to 40 minutes to the snow monkey park. Snowing occurs from December until March.
