The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route that connects Toyama and Nagano prefectures over the Northern Japanese Alps was reopened on April 16 after the winter-season closure. On the opening day, tourists enjoyed a walk along the route to see the spectacular walls of snow after it was ploughed. [Released April 18]
