If you are looking for ancient and authentic Japanese ceramics, you might as well try the Treasure Hunting challenge of Arita, Saga prefecture, and take home all the plates, cups, saucers and much more that you can fit inside your basket.
Called the Kouraku Kiln, the place is said to have started making ceramics since 1865. For some unknown reason, a lot of ceramic art pieces were not been able to be sold. This is the reason why the place opened its doors to ceramics enthusiasts who want to get hold of pieces of history.
The visit to the place requires phone reservation beforehand because the area can only accommodate 10 people in one day.
