Just like in any other countries, traditional houses does not only reflect the culture and heritage of the nation but also the social status of the family who owns the house.
Located just around five minutes from the Daikanyama Station in Tokyo is a traditional Japanese shelter called the Asakura House. Built in 1919, the house was a private residence of a Japanese politician, which had been reflected in the size of the house. The house also has a western-style room, showcasing the architectural influences of the time.
Carefully-preserved, the house is open to the public for an entrance fee of just 100 yen.
