The Tone River of the Kanto region is known for its nickname, Bando Taro. The name Bando is actually the old name in which the Kanto Region is known for. The word Taro, on the other hand, is one of the more popular names given to the first son or the oldest son of the family. Hence, it can be inferred that this river has been considered to be the oldest son of the Kanto Region. With a length of around 322 kilometers or around 200 miles, the Tone River is one of the Three Greatest Rivers of Japan.
