It started as a DIY or Do-It-Yourself store in Tokyo, hence the name of the shop involves the hands, which are used in making creative crafts and useful items at home. The very first branch of Tokyu Hands was launched to the public in Shibuya, in the year 1976. It then continued spreading the love for crafts, hobbies, home improvement and lifestyle products until the year 2000, when finally, it released a branch in Taipei, Taiwan. In the span of 13 years, Tokyu Hands was able to put up around 12 stores in the whole island country of Taiwan.
