The first pig cafe in Japan that opened on March 1, 2019, is located near Meguro Station in Tokyo. The cafe aims to raise awareness that pigs are beloved animals instead of livestock. Pigs can be adorable as family members like cats and dogs. Micropig got its financing from a crowdsourcing campaign that raised 4.7 million yen or $42, 380. A stay in the cafe will cost $8 that is cheaper than the price of an average micro pig.
