Composed of six buildings, the Tokyo National Museum complex is considered to be the largest and the oldest among all the museums in the Land of the Rising Sun.
The first of the six buildings is the Honkan, specializing on ancient Japanese artworks. Next is the Hyokeikan building, which is for temporary exhibitions. Thirs is the Toyokan building, displaying artifacts from other Asian countries like China and Korea. Fourth is the Heiseikan, where the wedding of Crown Prince Naruhito was held in 1993. Horyuji Homotsukan building is for religious artifacts. Lastly, Kuroda Memorial Hall, housing a rotating exhibition of the works fo Kuroda Seiki.
