On November 8, 2015, a giant sinkhole appeared in Fukuoka Prefecture and caused its road collapse and massive disruption on the Fukuoka city's major services such as power outage, phone signals, gas, and water supplies. The giant sinkhole was measured 30 meters (98 feet) wide and 15 meters (50 feet) deep.
After one week, Japan was able to restore the road. This road in Hakata ward is now fully functional. Watch as this time-lapse video shows how efficient Japan had responded to the situation.
