The conception of the space-themed park is not really intentional. It is said that the company, Nippon Steel, a steel manufacturer in Japan, was actually downsizing in the year 1990. Because of this, an idea sprung up to mind on how to use the steel of the company. Hence the galaxy-themed Space World was conceived.

One of the more famous rides is the Space Eye, a proud Ferris wheel which is around 100-metre (330 ft) tall. The place also has an treat during winter, which is also called as the Ice Aquarium ice rink.
