In 2014, the JR East, one of Japan's leading railway companies, introduced a resort and train in one. Presenting the Yamagata Shinkansen Line, which offers foot spas while travelers are on their way to Fukushima Prefecture and Yamagata Prefecuture. The shinkansen train has a total of six cars, with one car solely dedicated to the foot baths. There will be two red foot spa areas in the special train car. The red baths are supposed to represent the symbol of the Yamagat Prefecture, which is the red safflowers. Another train completes the "resort" experience by providing rows of tatami and a sake bar for that ultimate relaxation.
