Wishing upon as star is made conveniently easy with the help of your smartphone.
Fukotoku Shrine’s Forest Park in Nihonbashi is exhibiting a light show made even special by combining an illumination event with a meteor shower-sensing system, made possible through the works of the digital art firm Bascule.
Some of the trees are decorated with bright illuminations that light up whenever the system senses a meteor passing by, before launching the wishes made by guests using Twitter into the sky.
The event is a collaboration with Sanrio, featuring its classic and well-loved Little Twin Stars characters, Kiki and Lala—who only wakes up whenever they had to work their magic!
The engineer in-charge of the event, Seiya Takeda, said that meteor showers can still be spotted using radio waves, even if they couldn’t be seen by the naked eye.
