Do you have three or more hours to spare while at Narita Airport? Put your time in a good use by dropping by the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple.
Constructed in the year 940, the Naritasan is a temple dedicated to the Buddhist Fudo Myoo deity or the King of Knowledge. The founder of the Shingon sect of Buddhism, Kobo Daishi, is said to be the one who carved this revered statue of one of the five wisdom kings of the religion.
Attractions in the area include: the new main hall, the old main hall, the three-storey pagoda, and the Tahoto-styled pagoda named Great Pagoda of Peace.
