Being Japan's former capital, Kyoto has proved that it still have the crown when it comes to the term, "old Japan."
Featured here is a photo of the Nanzenji Temple during winter. Situated in the Higashiyama mountains, the Nanzenji Temple is said to be one of the most revered Zen temples in Japan. The Nanzenji compound was said to have been established during the middle of the 13th century. The then Emperor Kameyama had constructed a retirement villa for himself, in the same location as the present compound of the Nanzenji Temple.
