Nagoya is the largest city in the Chubu region and the capital of Aichi Prefecture. It lies in the centre of Japan and close to the cities of Hamamatsu and Kyoto.  Nagoya is known for the following: 

• Local gourmet - Nagoya meshi which are recipes that are originally from Nagoya. Nagoya meshi includes Miso-katus (pork cutlet with miso sauce), Ankake Spaghetti with sticky and spicy sauce, Hitsumabushi or grilled eel with rice, Ogura toast with red bean paste and Tebasaki or Japanese style fried chicken.
• For places, Nagoya has many interesting places such as the Nagoya City Science Museum that features a giant ball between two towers, the museum of Toyota, the port of Nagoya Public Aquarium, the JR Central Towers,  Meijimura which is an architectural park specialized in various buildings such as industrial heritage, shops, churches.
• Other sites include the Noritake garden known for its ceramics, the Nagoya TV Tower, Toganji Temple, Sumo Tournament, Sky Promenade, the Tie-dyeing Museum, Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens and the JR SCMAGLEV and Railway Park.
