Housed in Toyama Prefecture, Mount Tsurugi is one of the highest summits in the Hida Mountain ranges, with a height of 2999 meters or 9839 feet. Because of this, the peak has been hailed as one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains. But it seems like fame has a price to pay because the mountain is also known as the most dangerous climbable mountain in Japan. But this summit should not be confused with another mountain range located in Gunma Prefecture and Niigata Prefecture, the Tanigawa-dake, which is hailed as the most lethal mountain.
