Minato Mirai 21 whose name means "the harbor of the future", is often called Minato Mirai or simply MM. The number 21 in its name shows that this structure is built as an aspiration to the twenty-first century or the future.

Minato Mirai 21 is located in the seaside urban area in central Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture. With its many high-rises buildings, including Landmark Tower, museums, shopping centers, hotels, convention centers amusement park, and spectacular views of sunrise and sunset, there is no doubt that Minato Mirai 21 is the most famous and spectacular area in Yokohama.
