Japan is also known for its several open-air or outdoor museums. One of them is the Meiji Mura or the Meiji Village located in the city of Inuyama. Being an open-air museum, the place offers travelers a chance to "experience" around 60 establishments from the Meiji Period of Japan. This was actually the era that ended the feudal age in Japan so the buildings bear strong Western influences in terms of architectural design. Located just an hour from Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture, the museum is actually situated in a natural sanctuary, complete with trees, around the area of the Iruka Pond.
