Even though Tokyo has been an image of urbanization, it still makes sure that it keeps its traditions.
One of the most famous Shinto shrines in Tokyo is the Meiji Jingu located in Yoyogikamizonocho, Shibuya. This is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shoken. What's ironic in this place is that the grave of said emperor is not actually here. It is located at Fushimi-momoyama, south of Kyoto.
It has a forest that covers the entire area of 70 hectares. The greens seem to guard the gates of the shrine to encapsulate the calmness of the place, ready for each visitor that will travel.
