Located along Tokyo Bay in Chiba Prefecture, the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex has already hosted some of the most notable events and concerts in Japan since 1989.

Makuhari Messe was the venue of Kyli Minogue's Aphrodite: Les Folies tour on April 23 and April 24, 2011. It was also the place where The Fame Ball tour of Lady Gaga took place on August 8, 2009. Mariah Carey also performed here for her The Elusive Chanteuse Show on October 4, 2014.

The place has been booked now to hold the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games for fencing, taekwondo, karate and wrestling.
