Aside from its traditional houses and structures, Japan can also boast of its contemporary architecture.

Inside the woods and mountains of Sakuho, lies an off-the-grid cabin that gives a perfect convergence of East and West – the blend of Japanese architectural concepts and the Finnish-style design. First made as a getaway house from Daigo and his group of classmates, the project became a vacation home for him and his family later on.

The perfect blend of designs made the place simple, yet functional and a good kind of getaway home from the city life with the breath-taking view of Mt. Morei.
