Have you ever wondered how the traditional Edo period movies of the contemporary time are made without using any visual effects? Here is the Toei Uzumasa Eigamura to transport you back in time.
Also known as the Kyoto Studio Park or Movie Land, the area is actually an Edo-period themed park, wherein movies has been shooting period films since it opened. Aside from serving as a backdrop for films and dramas, the place also offers Edo-ish activites like the ninja maze and what is considered as one of Japan's scariest haunted houses. Travelers can also dress up and have a photoshoot in the said historical backdrops for around 8,500 to 16,000 yen.
