Pop Japan

Made operational in 1997, the Kyoto Station has since been in contract to traveler's image of Kyoto. Being ever since perceived as the "Old Japan," Kyoto has made a major breakthrough when it decided to adapat a futuristic design for its main railway station. According to Japanese architect, Hara Hiroshi, who designed the building, the design was not just modern but was actually a contemporary portrayal of the traditional outlook of Kyoto as the old capital of Japan. Being said, the establishment was built in accordance to the 1200th anniversary of the foundation of the capital in Kyoto Prefecture.
