Kurume is a small city in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, known as the "Land of Good Harvest," amidst it image of narrowed down quarters and high buildings. The city is a must-visit place in Japan because of its colorful beautiful flowers, and artistic paintings from the residents of Kurume City, featuring about 120 works from Aoki Shigeru, Sakamoto Hanjiro and Koga Harue. There are also historic temples and shrines such as the Bairinji Temple, the largest training temple in Kyushu. Another one is the neighboring Suitengu shrine, which is a mere half kilometer away. There is also the Chikugo River, home to a small plantation of plum trees blossoming in early spring. It has also been known for the gastronomic B-class gourmet foods and of course, the famous Hakata ramen noodles.
