The Kumamoto Outdoor Mall is the place to be for your shopping needs! The ‘pedestrian mall’ is divided into 3 sections, each street gives you everything you could think of— Shinshigai, Shimotori and Kamitori. In Shimotori you can find the longest shopping arcade in Kumamoto. Here you can see the latest trends as it is filled with apparel shops, making it the ‘fashion district’ of Kumamoto. Aside from shopping for clothes, you can also have fun in karaoke parlours and cafes. Shimotori connects to the other two, and in the connecting streets are a haven for foodies. Connected to the south end of Shimotori is the Shinshigai, where most events happen because of the spacious place. Here, tourists can also find recreational facilities such as movie theaters and game centers. In the opposite direction is the Kamitori, the shopping arcade aimed for the youth. In the backstreets are bars and café to be enjoyed.
