Last April 16 marked the anniversary of the great Kumamoto earthquake that devastated the Japanese region in 2016. But the world, together with the United States Embassy Tokyo and Consulates in Japan, wanted the people of Kumamoto to know that they are not alone in the recovery efforts.

In this video posted by the U.S. Embassy, it features both Americans, members of the U.S. Marine Corps Japan and U.S. Air Force Japan, and Japanese, together with Governor Ikuo Kabashima, singing and having fun together, to the tune of Kumamoto Surprise!, the theme song of the region composed by Bombo Fujii.
