One of the few establishments of its kind in Japan which offer the "most complete castle experience," the Kumamoto Castle located in Southern Japan has a lot to show travelers around the world.
The castle had a major renovation in 1607, and reconstructing a place this massive took around 7 years to complete. Designed by Kato Kiyomasa, the feudal lord of Kumamoto during the time, the castle had been one of the living proof of his strategic effectiveness.
Aside from 800 sakura or cherry trees standing as beautiful guards to the castle, another attraction is the reconstructed Honmaru Goten Palace. This includes the residential quarters of the daimyo or feudal lord of that time.
