Most canals are not meant to be a thriving environment for aquatic creatures such as fishes but in Japan, some canals in japan are clean that Khoi fishes leave in them. People walking in the street can the colourful fish swimming and they ar amazed by this happy fishes. The word Khoi means Carp in Japanese.
You can find these canals with Khoi swimming in Shimabara city, Nagasaki that is featured in some photos shown in internet blogs and articles. Another place is Hida Furukawa which is a small town north of Takayama.
Khoi fish are long-lived fishes that can leave up to 25 years. There are reports that one Khoi once lived for 226 years.
