Kobe is Japan's 6th largest city and forms as the capital of Hyogo Prefecture. It lies in the southern part of Honshu island and 30 km west of Osaka city. Nearby cities and towns include nara, Kyoto, Kakogawa, Akashi, Nishinomiya and Takarazuka. The city is known for the following attractions and interests:

* Takenaka Carpentry Museum - Stores relics or artificats dating to Jomon period.
* Akashi Kaikyo bridge - Stands 293 meters high and the tallest bridge in Japan.
* Kobe beef - Known for its tenderness and juiceness.
* Sake Brewery - Offers a tour in Kiku-Masamune sake Brewery company and musuem of Hakatsuru Sake Brewery
* Kobe memorial - A park dedicated in memory of the earthquake victims and as a reminder of the devastation of 1995.
* Nunobiki falls - A site for visual inspiration and natural attractions. Also best for treking.
* Kobe Port Tower - Standing at 108 metgers, Kobe tower offers a skyline view of the City.
* Oji Zoo Offers numerous animal attractions.
* Munt Rokko - Known for tis scenic rock garden.
