Arching wooden bridges are still present in modern-day Japan. And no, one of them is not located in Kyoto, or what is known as the "old Japan."
Located in the city of Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the Kintai Bridge was first built in 1673, crossing the whole Nishiki River. It was part of the Kikkou Park, which also includes the Iwakuni Castle. The bridge has undergone a lot of rehabilitations in the past years, to restore its beauty. The constructions stop during World War II but resumed in 1953 up to the present.
