I don't think I can ever go back to western bathing again! In this episode, John explores some reasons behind the concept of public bathing in Japan. 

There are sento and onsen. 
Sento is public baths that can be found in many neighbourhoods. 
Onsen is a naturally occurring hot spring with geothermally heated water full of minerals. It's also where you'll find some of Japan's most traditional resorts.

Prices: 
Sento Entry (Tokyo): 480 yen
Towel: 120 Yen (soap and shampoo sometimes provided for free)
Onsen Stay: Takaragawa Onsen (1 night / 2 meals): 14,800 yen / rates depend on time of year and room. Travel is separate.
