Watch the video to (virtually) visit one of the most famous haunted tunnels in Japan.
Located in Toyota city in the Aichi prefecture, the Isegami Tunnel is believed to be home to spirits. With its history of a hundred years, the tunnel reopened in May 1960. The local lore believes that a woman died in the tunnel during a flood. The ‘lady dressed in white’ is just one of the spirits said to be haunting the tunnel. Stories of workmen who died building the tunnel and even children’s writing appearing on the walls circulate, as mystery seekers brave the tunnel, only to hear voices or feel nauseous.
With Japan’s history of haunted tunnels, it’s safe to say that visiting it virtually is the safest its going to get.
