Japan, being the Land of the Rising Sun, is largely the protector of the Amaterasu, the sun goddess, and a major deity of the religion of Shinto. Also known as the Ise Jingu in Japan, the place is located in the city of Ise, at Mise Prefecture in Japan, and is a shrine dedicated to Amaterasu. The Ise Grand Shrine is also said to be the home of the Sacred Mirror or Yata no Kagami, one of the three Sacred Treasures of Japan or the Imperial Regalia of Japan. But the public is actually not allowed to view this sacred piece.
