Buddshism is one of the major religious principles being followed by Japan right now. Because of this, a lot of temples and Budddhist statues had been made since the religion waas brought to Japan in the 6th century.
In the city of Kamakura in the Kanagawa Prefecture, there is a temple called Kotokuin Temple. Here, the Great Buddha of Kamakura rests peacefully since its completion in the year 1243. Standing around 13.35 metres (43.8 ft) tall and weighing almost 93 tonnes. The giant statue is actually hollow and travelers are allowed to "see what's inside Buddha."
