Apparently, the historical Japan and the present urban grid can also coincide in the cities, particularly in Osaka.

In the growing skyline of Osaka lies a building that was a result of the history and legal compromises. At the middle three floors of the TKP Gate Tower Building passes through a one-lane tunnel to Hanshin Expressway.

Seeing them from different angles – highways, streets, and even skyscrapers like Umeda Sky Building – will make you feel as if we are in a mission-driven video game. And the passageway has officially become part of the city’s network of elevated highways since the construction of the building in 1992.
