Seasons in japan comprises spring to summer, autumn and winter. The southernmost part of the country such as Okinawa and Hateruma island, experience the subtropical season.
Spring (March-May) - Known for sakura trees (cherry trees), spring-themed festivals, public activities, and parties.
Summer (June - August) - Known for its humidity, summer is known for the rainy season or Tsuyu).
Autumn (September - November) - This is the month were foliages or leaves are almost like flowers. Colors vary from yellow to white. The autumn season offers the most spectacular view of the splendor of colorful leaves of evergreen and deciduous trees. The evergreen trees' leaves can withstand the upcoming cold. During this season, trees produce the pigment anthocyanins where their leaves turn into purple and red. Such plants comprise red apples, dogwoods, black tupelo, blueberries concord grapes, maple, birch trees, and plums.
Winter - (December to February) This is the season where the temperature falls below 0 degrees celcius and some parts stay from 1 to 5 C. If you travel to Northern Japan (Sapporo) wear winter clothing such as thick jacket and coat.
