The fake swimming pool really looks like a swimming pool filled with water. It creates an optical illusion, which makes people look like they are submerged in water.

The pool was made by Owensvideos, an Argentinian artist in 2004 as part of a permanent exhibition at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan. The pool is a 9 ft. deep pit in the center of the museum. The illusion is made by the 10-centimeter water flowing between two sheets of glass, and with pool, walls painted in aquamarine.
