The picture may seem haunted but this place is still operational. However, the station is unmanned.

This is the Doai Station, located in the town of Minakami in the district of Tone in Gunma Prefecture. Operating on the Joetsu Line, the Doai Station has two single side platforms, making the place more unusually creepy. The first one is an elevated platform which serves the southbound trains to Minakami. The second one is within the Shin-Shimizu Tunnel, and is thus located underground. This is the northbound platform, bringing travelers to Echigo-Yuzawa and Nagaoka.
