Located in Semboku City in the Akita Prefecture, Dakigaeri Valley is, with its all-natural beauty, a magnificent place to sightsee. The name ‘Dakigaeri’ is a combination of the words ‘Daki’ meaning ‘to embrace’ and ‘Kaeri’ meaning ‘to turn around’. The breathtaking view of the untouched environment is especially popular in autumn. The striking balance of nature’s colors makes it a place for appreciation and reflection. The blue sky against the green of the foliage in the summer and the harmony of red and yellow leaves against the rich soil in the autumn makes it a must-see when in Japan. The waterfalls and streams are also described as magnificent.
