Pop Japan

This temple here is not located in Kyoto nor in Japan. This is located in the island of Oahu in Hawaii, particularly in the Valley of the Temples. This valley is actually a memorial park where the Buddhist, Shinto, Protestant and Catholic residents of Hawaii are put to rest in peace.

The temple is actually a faithful repoduction of a temple in Uji, at Kyoto Prefecture. Inside the main temple is a huge statue of the Lotus Buddha, which is around 18 feet in height. The statue has also been adorned with gold and lacquer.
