Big ice columns were artificially created in the Onouchi Ravine in Ogano, Saitama Prefecture. These were made by spraying water over trees and letting these freeze naturally, during winter. The water used was taken from mountain rivers. 

Saitama Prefecture is part of the Greater Tokyo area. Some tourist spots here are: Kawagoe, a little castle town, also known as the Little Edo, and the rural city of Chichibu, known for its festivals and shrines.
