Known for unique items in the market, the Japanese contemporary art scene has been making waves in the worldwide industry since the beginning of time.
In the Naoshima Island, located in Kagawa Prefecture, a group of artists has been turning empty inaka or provincial houses into works of art. Called The Art House Project, this creative transformation has been a great idea that came from Benesse Art Site Naoshima, which is a group of art activities facilitated by Benesse Holdings, Inc. and Fukutake Foundation in the islands of Naoshima and Teshima in Kagawa Prefecture and on Inujima island in Okayama Prefecture.
