Kyoto Prefecture is not just about temples, shrines, castles and "old Japan." Along MIyazu Bay is a majestic piece of land called the Amanohashidate. The place is a narrow strip of sandbar, fully covered with pine trees. The name itself gives a feeling of highness in the place. The name amanohashidate literally means "bridge in heaven." True to its name, the place actually seems to be a bridge connecting the two ends of the sandbar. These areas include a small amusement park, temples, shrines, and an observation deck to see the bridge from a high angle.
