The Abukumado Cave is discovered in 1969 and is said to contain Asia's largest stalagmite called the Christmas Tree. This Fukushima Prefecture cave is composed of around 3000 meters of a network or stalactites, stalagmites and underground streams. The cave also boasts of its boxwork formations, which are claimed to be seen only in this area. The cave management has opened around 600 meters for public viewing and the tour around the whole cave is said to take around an hour. The cave also employs a theatrical lighting system to give a different mood on each work of God.
